Handmade Crosses from Dogwood
(The Legend of the Dogwood)
About our Crosses
All of our crosses are handcrafted and carved from deceased Dogwood trees. Each piece is unique with it's own character and grain. They often have worm and insect evidence, hence the
"Worm Wood" cross. The blemishes and bark symbolize the wounds of Christ "By his wounds you have been healed".
Have no fear all wood has been sterilized!
You will discover as we have the absolute beauty and roughness of the Dogwood wood.
Every cross is different. Much time is taken to pick the right pieces for the initial cut, so to allow for the most outstanding wood grain.
All crosses go through a 15- step process from locating the trees, to harvest, and finally, to shipping.
You will enjoy the hand-rubbed finish that will feel divine in your hand!
You are invited to enjoy "My Story" on page #2. This will help you
understand how and why "Kingdom Crosses" has been blessed to be here today!
Thank you! And may God Bless You as he has us!
The Legend of the Dogwood
As legend has it, the cross on which Jesus was crucified was made from dogwood tree. God decreed that the dogwood tree would from that day forth never grow large enough to be used to make a cross for a human. Thus, the dogwood tree is a small and under story tree.
The flower of the dogwood has four petals which make the shape of a cross. The center of the flower resembles the crown of thorns. Note the tips of the petals stained red and the splashes of red representing the blood shed by Christ.
The dogwood blooms in April when Easter Sunday marks the resurrection of Christ after the Crucifixtion.
